AirEx technology builds on the experience gained by Planus in the development of Toilé, the residential and medical version of the system.
Toilé was the subject of a feasibility study conducted by ALTEMS, the Graduate School of Health Economics and Management of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, with reference to guidelines and data from the Italian Ministry of Health concerning healthcare-associated infections and indoor air quality.
The study highlights how flushing traditional toilets can generate aerosols containing microorganisms and contaminated particles, potentially contributing to the contamination of surrounding surfaces and the spread of pathogens in enclosed environments. For this reason, Toilé technology was designed to extract aerosols directly from the toilet bowl and convey them into the discharge system before they can spread into the surrounding environment.
The analysis, developed according to Health Technology Assessment methodologies and supported by international scientific references, assessed the potential contribution of this technology to improving environmental hygiene and reducing the risks associated with the spread of contaminated aerosols.
With AirEx, Planus brings this technological experience to the marine sector, offering an advanced solution that combines design, innovation and air quality for a new concept of comfort on board.
